Co-determination in the MVZ: “We have decided that we need a works council”

Employee co-determination has been a reality in Germany for a century. However, it continues to encounter resistance: from employers as well as from uncertain workforces. Works councils are not uncommon in hospitals – but the situation is different in private practices and medical care centers. Dr. Thorsten Mihm, chairman of the first medical care center works council of the Asklepios Group, explains the advantages of employee representation.
